Fun Dog Show
Montrollet Village Summer Fete
Sunday August 30th 2009
The weather was glorious!
This is the second year we have been invited to put the ‘fun’ into dog show and raise money for charity at the same time. And what fun we had!
The fun dog show classes included best six legs (4 hairy 2 long and brown) imagine that! Best biscuit catching, the dogs not the owners!
We also ran a ‘scurry’ - What’s a scurry?
The dog is timed returning to you jumping over straw bales! Yes, it was great fun.

We also organized a doggie high jump (Chase me Charlie).
Certificates were awarded and prizes given.

Not satisfied with the afternoon’s success, our grand finale was the egg and spoon race! You had to be there to really appreciate this event.
We raised over 170.00 euros for charity with the help of the second hand book sale run by Moria and others. We hope to be invited again next year so make a note in your diary for a great fun family day out!!!!!
Past Events
Sponsored Walk, Montrollet 26 April 09
Our spirits were lifted when we saw so many people arriving. For nearly 24 hours previously, it had been raining continuously. In fact it turned out dry and not too warm, just perfect for walking.
A great job again by Moira & Roy and friends for planning yet another stunning route, getting us all round safely and then afterwards, for the much needed feast.
The tall lady in the middle dressed in pink is not a lady and if you look closely you will see it is Les. Mike & Lena Duncan of Rochechuart very generously donated 500€ if Les attended dressed as a woman.
We are pleased to announce that this event raised over 1200€ for the SPA and Phoenix Rescue.
Thank you and well done to all.Fun Dog Show 2008
This event was a spin off from our summer fete. Joy from Paws4Thought (in-house training centre) and myself were asked to organise a similar dog show at the Montrollet village fete.
It was a great afternoon and well supported by English and French hopefuls, looking to bag a rosette or two. All in the name of fun - some of the classes were for the Best Biscuit Catcher, Best Six Legs, Waggiest Tail, Greyest Muzzle. The Scurry brought lots of enthusiasm from both dogs and owners, ending with a very exciting Chase me Charlie.
In addition, there was a stall selling second-hand books, which proved very popular and the two events raised nearly 100€.

Kennels Open Day 2008
A year on, with experience under our belt and a huge team of volunteers, we decided to make the event much bigger. Concentrating on raising more funds for the two charities.
This year we had many more stalls, two bands, dog obedience displays, dancing displays, fun dog show, and many more attractions including an auction raising a massive total of 2330€.

Sponsored Walk 2008
What a great time was had by all.
The weather was very hot, but
better than rain! The turnout was
wonderful. A huge thanks to all
who came along and of course
those who were involved in organizing the
walk and the welcome refreshments afterwards.
This really was a great afternoon
and we raised a massive 630€.

Kennels Open Day 2007
The first open day was organised to celebrate the 1st anniversary of Bluebell Wood Boarding Kennels. It soon turned into a mini summer fete, swiftly growing when we added a few fun stalls to raise funds for the SPA and Phoenix Rescue.
As well as the stalls and support of a local country band, there was a display of basic dog obedience and a fun dog show.
The weather was fantastic, making the day a great success with many people and dogs turning out to give their support. Raising a substantial 400€ for the two charities.
